Biography

Monica Maria Coroș is an associate professor lecturer at the Faculty of Business from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. She started her teaching activity during her master's studies (2005/2006), becoming a full-time academic staff member at the beginning of the 2008/2009 academic year. She graduated in 2005 with a specialization in Managerial Assistance from the Faculty of Business and a specialization in Communication and Public Relations from the Faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences, both faculties of the Babeș-Bolyai University. She followed the master's degree in Business Administration at the Faculty of Business, which she graduated from in 2006, as the head of promotion. In October 2006, she became a PhD student in the field of Management at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Business Administration, from Babeș-Bolyai University, with the research topic The Management of Tourism Supply and Demand, obtaining the title of Doctor of Management in January 2014. Monica Maria Coroș is coeditor of the books of proceedings of the international conference of the Faculty of Business, Modern Trends in Business, Hospitality, and Tourism (the first published by Presa Universitară Clujeană and the next two by the Springer publishing house). She ahs collaborated in the development of several international volumes published by Routlegde, IGI Global and other international or national publishing houses, respectively, several teaching books and is the author or co-author of more than 110 chapters, scientific and specialized articles, published abroad and in the country, respectively communicated at international conferences.

In December 2017, she received the Virgil Madgearu Award granted by the Romanian Academy, after she was awarded the Gaudeamus Prize by AJTR (The Association of Romanian Tourism Journalists and Writes) in January of the same month. In recognition of her teaching activity, ANOSR awarded her, at the proposal of the faculty's students, the title of Bologna Professor in 2017.

She was and is a member of several research teams (both in the field of tourism and in the field of SMEs). She is part of professional associations such as SAMRO, CACTUS, and AJTR and is a founding member of the Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Hospitality (CRETH).

  • member of the development and implementation team of the Erasmus + BIP (Blended Intensive Program) Event Management – Autumn School, together with EPHEC (Bruxelles, Belgium), ICD Business School (Toulouse, France), and University of Szeged (Szeged, Hungary), October 23rd-December 8th, 2023, with online activities prior and after the physical mobility (November 6th-10th, 2023), involving 24 students from the partner universities and 9 from the Faculty of Business;
  • coordinator/responsible of the development and implementation team of the Erasmus + BIP (Blended Intensive Program) Rural Sustainable Tourism in Transylvania – Spring School, together with Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies (Lisbon, Portugal), and University of Rome, "Tor Vergata" (Rome, Italy), March 1st-31st, 2023, with online activities prior and after the physical mobility (March 4th-11th, 2023), involving 25 students from the partner universities and 8 from the Faculty of Business;
